In autumn, the TV Center channel launched a new consumer talk show, Natural Selection. One of the program’s hosts is a famous showman, journalist Otar Kushanashvili. Four times a week, Otar, along with co-host Zinaida Rudenko, teaches viewers how to choose products, appliances, household chemicals, etc. I wonder what Otar himself prefer? About "Natural Selection"

This is the first time I am conducting a program of this kind. This is despite the fact that at home they jokingly call me "the defender of the oppressed." But hitherto I was in demand as, to put it mildly, an intellectual clown, a gangster, a catastrophe ironist (one of my daughters awarded me this title). This is entirely the merit of the producers - they discerned a suitable guy in me, scanned me, "sorted out the taste of apples." Of course, it’s hard for me, difficulties are darkness, but this is the work that I adore. And what difficulties can scare you if you love your job? I would rather speak of fear here. Fear does not meet the expectations of good people who believe in me and me. But this fear does not bother me, but inspires, mobilizes and disciplines.

You see, I am the defendant for a huge number of people, and I must be not just in shape, but in excellent shape, excluding the neatly regular devouring of my favorite khachapuri and khinkali. It would not hurt you all to know that for the sake of Natural Selection, I lost 12 kilograms! Above all, this is also respect for the viewer, that same work ethic.

As for cooking. "I am a nightingale, and, apart from songs, there is no other use for me." I don’t know how to cook. But I am a very, very, very grateful consumer.

* Is there olive oil in olive mayonnaise? According to the technical regulations for oil and fat products, even if the manufacturer adds at least a little olive oil, for example, only 1-2%, he may already call mayonnaise olive. And this is absolutely legal!

* Read the composition. If you see that olive oil is located there further than third place, this mayonnaise is far from olive.

* If you follow your diet and figure, but love mayonnaise, you can use a little trick: for New Year's salads, mix mayonnaise with natural yogurt in a ratio of 50/50. The taste will remain almost the same, and calories will be much less.

Red salmon caviar

* If you want to eat fresh caviar of the first grade (this is the best grade of caviar), check the place of production. The ideal option is when caviar is made in the Far East, that is, next to the sea.

* To check the quality of caviar, you need to pour a few eggs with hot water. There is a lot of protein in real caviar, so the balls will become dense, white due to temperature - that is, they will simply boil, and the water itself will become cloudy. Artificial caviar is made of gelatin. These balls do not completely dissolve in water, but an oily colored film of oil with dyes forms on the surface. The water itself will be transparent.

* Caviar of different salmon fish is different. Chum salmon caviar - the largest, up to 7 mm, orange; pink salmon caviar - smaller, orange-red; Sockeye salmon caviar is the smallest, about 3 mm, bright red and always bitter.

* The following stop words in the product should warn you against buying waffle chocolates: vegetable fat, palm oil, cocoa butter substitute or equivalent, rapeseed oil, shea butter, soy protein or soy flour. If you see only vegetable fats in the composition, then in these sweets there is neither natural chocolate nor milk filling.

* Synthetic dyes, the use of which must be accompanied by a mandatory warning inscription on the package - "The product contains dyes that may adversely affect the activity and attention of children." There are only six of them: E102 - tartrazine, E104 - yellow quinoline, E110 - "sunny sunset", E122 - azorubine, E129 - charming red, E124 - ponso.
